Good vs Bad and Help with Fear

Good vs Bad in Your Life

Sometimes I'll ask a client, "What are some good things in your life and what are some bad things in your life? I might hear something like this:

“What's good? Hmm... my job is fine. I like it. I'm not struggling to pay bills or put food on the table. I get to spend time with my family. Now Bad...I wish I had more friends. I do feel lonely. I'm just scared that I won't ever have friends; I don't want to be alone. Yeah, I've got my family but friends are different."

What stuck out to you as you read? Notice that there are things that this person believes are good in his life, his family, and his job. But he focuses more on what is "Bad".

Good, Fear, and Awareness

Sometimes what might be "Bad" to the client is fear, "I'm just scared that I won't ever have friends." What if you function more out of good versus fear, instead of good versus bad? Having this awareness is very important. You can now reset on Monday morning or Tuesday before your presentation. It will be ok.

Learn to quickly call thoughts as fear, more than bad. This will help you slow down.

"Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

-Luke 12:32
