What does change involve?

What is Christian Counseling?

Change involves all your life experiences, the joys and disappointments, the ‘aha’ moments and confusing seasons, good and difficult relationships, and how God is involved.

The average cost for an individual counseling session in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is $150. The average cost for couples and family counseling is $165. Do both spouses come to every marriage session together?

Sometimes we will split up the husband and wife, one spouse one week, the other spouse the next. Much of this depends on the nature of the relationship, and the ability to do counseling work together.

Do y'all have a cancellation fee?

You will be charged the full counseling fee for a late cancellation or a no show. A late cancellation is a scheduled counseling appointment that has been cancelled by the client less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Our notice of privacy practices discusses this policy.

How do I cancel an appointment?

The easiest way to cancel is by clicking the schedule button at the top of the screen and follow the instructions. You may cancel or reschedule your appointment 24 hours leading up to your scheduled appointment. You are also welcome to call our office at 682-593-9226.

Do counselors at Cowtown currently have availibility in their schedules?

Great question! We are currently accepting new clients. If you are interested in receiving counseling, click the schedule button at the top of the page. If you have any questions, give us a call.

Is what I share confidential?

Your mental health information, progress notes, and intake are all confidential and protected under the guidelines in our 'Notice of Privacy Practice' document. For example, if your friend, family member, or pastor calls us to see how counseling is going, then we cannot acknowledge that we know you or information about you.

Christian counsel engages your life experiences and your response to these while carefully engaging the Bible and specifically the gospel of Jesus Christ. Visit our page on Christian Counseling to learn more.

Do you have to share everything?

You do not have to share everything at once. Sharing is important and we encourage you to take your time. It is difficult opening up about your life and we consider it a privilege to listen and counsel you.

We specialize in marriage counseling, family counseling, and individual counseling for anxiety, anger, depression, guilt, shame, obsessive-compulsive disorder, pornography addiction, parenting, relationship struggles, and sexuality issues. Do you see children, teens and adults?

We see children as young as 5 years old, pre-teens, teens, adults, and seniors. Please visit our Therapists page to see which age groups counselors specialize.

Does your practice accept insurance?

As briefly shared above, our practice does not accept insurance. We can give the client a "Superbill" though, which is an out-of-network mental health provider receipt. Sometimes an insurance company will reimburse a client if a Superbill is on hand. If you are interested in this option, please call your insurance and ask if they accept these.
