Counseling Background
Crystal Shi, LPC is a Christian therapist in Fort Worth. She earned her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Crystal is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She is highly educated, nearly completing her Ph.D 10 years ago. Her professional background includes a variety of settings such as the church, school, and private practice at multiple companies. Crystal has also developed a parenting and marriage curriculum. You will easily connect with Crystal. She is empathetic, fun, and relaxed.
Why She Loves Christian Counseling
Crystal loves seeing people grow and thrive. She provides individual, marriage counseling, and family counseling and therapy in our Fort Worth office. For her, nothing is more satisfying than witnessing the mind and soul of a client restored (and knowing she has played a part in it). She experiences great joy in daily walking alongside each of her clients, seeing healing take place.
Integrating the Christian Faith into Therapy
Crystal uses biblical truth along with research-based counseling methods to achieve the goal of healing in the mind and soul. Crystal’s specialty includes childhood trauma, prolonged anxiety, codependency/boundary issues, interpersonal relationship struggles, gender issues, infidelity/divorce recovery, grief, loss, and marriage counseling. She sees teens ( 13+), young adults, adults, and seniors. Crystal uses a variety of counseling techniques and skills to empower her clients to overcome difficulties in their lives by establishing healthy boundaries with other people and teaching her clients practical tools to cope with their struggles. Her warm, friendly, and calm personality influences Crystal’s clients to establish a natural rapport and trust with her.
Counseling Education and Training
Crystal is a certified sex educator. She has obtained her Marriage Strong certificate through Dallas Theological Seminary curriculum. Her go-to resources include a variety of authors and podcast hosts such as Timothy Keller, Henry Cloud, Curt Thomson, Daniel Amen, and Brene Brown.
Family and Passions
Crystal is married with a daughter. She enjoys spending time in nature as this is where she feels closest to God. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and cooking new recipes. At the end of the day, nothing beats family time!
