Emily Cinque, LPC is a Christian therapist in Fort Worth, Texas! As a therapist, she has worked alongside adults, adolescents, teens, and children for the last 12 years in different mental health settings. She earned her Masters in Counseling from Lamar University. Emily has a passion for providing therapy for women's issues, couples struggling in relationships, adolescents, and children. Over the years she has helped many North Texas clients with therapy she has learned from both professional trainings and experience. Her clients truly appreciate her level of insight as well as compassion. Emily’s professional background includes working with adults with a variety of issues, couples, postpartum mothers, and children ages 6 and up. Emily worked as an Elementary school teacher for 8 years prior to her work as a therapist. She served students in the Middle School and Elementary setting as a School Counselor for four years, while simultaneously working with clients in a private setting in Fort Worth.

Why Emily Loves Christian Counseling

Emily’s love for Christian counseling comes from Isaiah 40:31, which says, "Those who wait on the Lord will have their strength renewed, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint." Emily knows that each season of life has many highs and lows, and she loves that Christian counseling marries the hope of the Gospel with therapeutic practices, and applies them both to the growing pains of life!

Integrating the Christian Faith into Therapy

Emily integrates her Christian faith into her practice with ease and warmth. She uses prayer and scripture to encourage individuals and navigate sessions. Emily believes that the Lord hears our cries (Jeremiah 29:12) and offers a space to honestly share, and grow in each stage of life. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (the Gold Standard) and uses CBT techniques while working with adults, adolescents, and children. Learning new and redeemed ways of thinking and behaving provides each client, whether adult or child, with powerful and lasting change. Emily is a phenomenal counselor for adults of all ages. Regarding children, she incorporates play, a powerful modality for communicating with children and facilitating change. Emily is also a certified Perinatal Mental Health counselor, and believes that women need a safe space to be open and honest in one of the most vulnerable seasons of life. Overall, Emily specializes in clients struggling with: depression, anxiety, women's issues, children of divorce, perinatal mental health issues, body image struggles, relational issues, and life transitions. She counsels ages 6 and up, adults, young couples, and postpartum mothers.

Counseling Education and Training

As shared earlier, Emily is a Fort Worth therapist trained in Cognitive Behavior therapy serving both minor and adult clients. She is a certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor and is trained in various Play Therapy Techniques. She receives continuing education through Postpartum Support International and the Association for Play Therapy. Her practice is informed through the training and teaching of Dan Allender and Cathy Loerzel at The Seattle School, and various therapists and authors such as: Adam Young and Becky Allender.

Family and Passions

Emily is married with two kiddos. When she isn’t counseling, she is spending time with her family, taking a workout class somewhere in Fort Worth, or going for a walk and listening to a podcast! She also enjoys interior design and creating spaces that are calm and welcoming.
