What Brings You Closer to God
Reading the Bible, praying, going to church, all these things get you closer to God, right? What about counseling? Does this bring you closer to God? What would it be like to be close to God, right now reading this blog? Maybe you are in the parking lot of Trader Joe's reading this blog, sitting on your couch, or about to leave the office. Christian, you are close to God.
"But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ."

You are Already Close to God
Let's say you brush your teeth at 7:15 am, read your bible at 7:30, make a quick breakfast at 8, and out the door for work by 8:20. You are just as close to God brushing your teeth as you are making breakfast. Think of somebody's testimony; usually, she would share a difficult time in her life, at some point share that she became a believer in Jesus Christ, and then share her realization that God was with her during that difficult time, opening her eyes to a relationship with Him.
Being close to God because of Jesus, helps your heart know you are close while in the parking lot at Trader Joe's, brushing your teeth in the morning, reading your Bible, or going to church. You cannot get closer to God by your good behavior and sobriety from bad behavior. You are near, Christian.
